Hulk Sleeping

Thanks to Auntie Jenna and Uncle Ty Jackson is the proud owner of this GORGEOUS Hulk sleeping bag and plush blanket. He absolutely loves it, of course...the blanket even has a plastic push button that makes a green flashing light!! Could anything be cooler?

Snow

I'm pretty sure we've had more snow in the last two weeks than in the last five years combined.
Jackson has a couple of giant snowmen in the front yard and has gotten really good at throwing snowballs...thanks for the great coaching dad!

Happy 2009

It's so nice to be home...we spent all day relaxing, cleaning up, putting away the Christmas tree...and cuddling with Boxers.

Christmas at our house

It did occur...quickly on Christmas morning...and then we were off again. I think my favorite picture of the holidays, this year, is the first one here, where Jackson is hugging his stocking with his joyful, sleepy face. Ahh, to be three at Christmas.

The 26th

...and then on we went to Dearborn, to my dad's house, to complete our holiday loop-o-the-state.
We got SNOWED IN the next morning, I should have taken pictures of the state of the road over the mountain to the house...four foot drifts for as far as the eye could see. It took nearly all day with a caterpillar to dig out the road, plus my dads four wheel drive with all four tires in chains to get us out. Love Montana travel in the winter:)

Christmas Deer

Jackson constantly talks about Grandpa Jack and his deer and elk. So the morning after Christmas as we were loading up hay, Jack got some grain and called up some of the baby deer that he had bottlefed last spring. I couldn't get them all in the photo, but there is a a whole herd of them out of sight on the right side.

Cousins

Due to my own laziness I didn't get many good photos at Matt's folks house, but we did have an excellent dinner on Christmas day at Mike and Kari's house as well as a present opening festival for all the grandkids at Jack and Ellen's afterwards. Here is a cute pic of the cousins together...too wild for the new baby to be included in, I guess:) So it's cousins, minus one.

Christmas Eve

It's a new family tradition, seafood boil for Christmas Eve. The way it works is two people (my mom and brother in this case) slave over large pots of boiling water, melting butter and slimy seafood, while the rest of us sit around and wait. Then, suddenly, it's ready and they pour all of the seafood, potatoes, asparagus and onions out onto the butcher paper prepped table and everybody just digs in to grab what they like. Jackson was most impressed by the lack of plates and silverwear, and by the fact that you could pour your condiments directly onto the table.

Christmas Cookies

Well, as usual I should be better about posting as I take pictures...not waiting until I have two weeks worth ...hey, that sounds like a New Years resolution!
Anyways, Some photos of Jackson decorating Christmas cookies. A big, fun mess, with lots of ridiculously sugary, frosting topped (and edible only for Jackson and his dinosaurs) cookies. I got tons of funny commentary as he was doing it too. "Hey mom this is a polar bear cookie." Green sprinkles. "Now the polar bear is covered up." etc. etc.
Anyone know how I can fix all the extra space in between my photos? No idea how this happens and it is driving me crazy!!! (Thank You Panda!!)
