Picnic

My mom and I took the kids up the Bitterroot yesterday for an afternoon of hking and a little picnic (which for Jackson consisted entirely of strawberries.) Also a stop by the river on the way back on the trail, where Jackson discovered he could wade right through to get to the cool rocks farther out...he was soaking wet by the time we got out of there.

Easter,Phase Two

Jackson had a great Easter egg hunt with his cousins at Grandma Ellen and Grandpa Jack's house on Easter. 48 eggs were found by five children, all of them stuffed with great surprises (even....money, to the surprise and delight of the kids) and even the baby found a few!

Easter, Phase One

Easter at Grandma's was a whirlwind event. We found out the night before that Silas was going to go to Seattle with my dad on Sunday...so we had about three hours on Sunday morning to open Easter baskets, dye eggs and have a couple of egg hunts...but we pulled it off and the kids had a great time!!

We Heart Rozzy

Rozzy is in need of a thorough spring grooming...we started today with a vigorous brushing and mane trimming, she had a heavy winter coat this year and looks like a scruffy mess now that it's all falling out. Jackson is practicing up being a farmer for his upcoming ranch days...he is plotting getting a horse of his own as soon as we move...:)

Beanbag

Grandma gave Jackson a beanbag the other day...forgot to post this pic. He loves it!! Notice the legs of his pants are wet from wading around in the river, and how worn out he looks...barely staying awake to finish his mac and cheese.
